Quartz sand is combined with petroleum coke or high-quality anthracite in a high-temperature reaction to produce silicon carbide for casting. After crushing, sand making, and mild pickling, the crystal layer with about 90% SiC content is transformed into a high-quality silicon source and hot metal purifier in the cast iron process. It can be used for silicon addition, inoculation, deoxidation, and purification during the nodular iron and gray iron production process.
Our Product Advantages
Prevent carbide precipitation and lessen the likelihood to become chilled.
Significantly enhance the mechanical and machinability qualities.
Improve molten iron's fluidity, stabilize its chemical make-up, and stop segregation.
It can make the structure more compact and less sensitive to wall thickness, and the cutting surface is smooth.
Increase graphite core and improve graphite's capacity for nucleation.
It is a powerful deoxidizer for nodular cast iron, increasing the nodularizing rate while decreasing the amount of nodularizing agent needed.
Reduce the amount of rusted scrap and alloy to lower the price of molten iron.
Eliminate the molten iron oxidation factor, lower furnace wall oxidation, and increase furnace wall life by 30%.
Strong deoxidation, molten iron purification; silicon content is equal to 75% ferrosilicon; aluminum content is lower.

Application
Calculations are made to determine how much silicon should be added to one heat of molten iron. For casting in molten iron, silicon carbide has a silicon absorption capacity of 0.5-0.56 kg per kg.
This calculation suggests that figuring out how much silicon carbide to add is simple. If the process conditions allow, overheating the hot metal for five minutes at 1550 °C can improve absorption.
only after adding the carburizing agent in order is the calculated and weighed silicon carbide tied up with woven bags, placed into the molten iron in the furnace, and the cover material is melted.
